Sometimes I will freely share a developing story here before going to print. Often the stories are part of a series and I desire feedback from my readers. I guess it like allowing you to taste the frosting spoon.
Two of my online book projects are:
Clarissa Burton has been writing poetry and short stories since age 8. She has published articles in the Charleston Post-Courier, the Kansas City Star, Flourish Magazine, and the Kansas City Small Business Monthly. For more than two years, I have been subject to the horrible experience of cyber-stalking and harassment. During this harrowing time, I have done my best to stay positive and move on with accomplishing many wonderful things. However, I must confess that I have struggled greatly to contain my fears and distress. I have shared my concerns with a few close family members and friends.
Writing is a time-consuming process. If you are serious about becoming a very good writer as well as a sought after writer, time commitment is vital. There will be times when you just don't want to write. There will be times when you can't seem to squeeze a single word out of your head. Fear not. Every writer experiences these crippling symptoms of writer's block.
There are days when I just want to share my thoughts with the world. Sometimes those thoughts wind up in a story. So, I encourage you to continue to drop by and see what I’m up to and what fantastical blog posts may someday become a book.
Eight-year old Samantha is a beautiful, biracial girl who has an adoring father, Grayson, a baby brother, Tavis, who worships her, wonderful grandparents and aunt, Carol. What is missing is the affection and love from her mother, Tanya, who struggles to love anyone even herself. Samantha is confused as to why her loving father would abandon his family, leaving their mother sole custody, the one person who never showed love or affection to her or Tavis. Snatched from the safety of their upper middle class home, loving father, grandparents, and their Aunt Carol, Samantha helplessly watches as her and Tavis’ lives take a tragic downward spiral.
Princess Onyx™ Fairytales are stories about a beautiful princess named Princess Onyx who lives in the Kingdom of Jet with her loving parents, King Stygian and Queen Sable. Princess Onyx loves to play and have fun with the kingdom’s children.
Since I was 14 years old, I didn't believe I could draw or paint. While in middle school, my art teacher failed me because I was unable to draw a perfect geometrical circle, square, rectangle, or octagon. I gave up on being an artist. I was sure that my art teacher knew everything about art and was able to identify the true artists.
